Panic Disorder[1]

Panic Disorder is a recurrent, unexpected attack of acute anxiety, that peaks within about ten minutes. This type of panic may occur in a familiar situation, like a crowded elevator. This is much different than the more common, occasional episodes of extreme anxiety in response to a real threat.

Panic disorder is characterized by palpitations; chest pains; sweating; chills or hot flushes; trembling; shortness of breath or choking; nausea; light-headedness or feelings of unreality; fear of losing control, or dying.

If you have four or more of these symptoms in at least two discrete episodes, this could spell trouble.

If you want further information and assistance, please check our related topics. Also, you can contact a GHE HealthCare, Inc. counselor via our Call Center toll free at
